CITST has participated in several national and international projects, including projects that UPB  was part of the consortium, which created a good base for an efficient collaboration to achieve with the current proposal.

The main objective of the project is to design and implement a platform that realize a plan of tasks for the different robots available at the trader, executes the defined plans and monitors the robots activities. Robot activity based on this platform should be easily configured, the achieve goals should be programed based on simple behaviors. Such platform allows easy customization of robot’s program but also to generate some specific comportment adapted to some unforeseen circumstances.

CITST wants to make better use of the available robotics technology in the company (Tiago and in the future, Pepper) offering it as a service (rental, leasing) for potential customers.

The envisaged  usage scenarios were related to promotion of products and / or assistance in public places such as shopping centers, museums, banks, exhibitions. Thus, for a company that wants to promote a product or class of products, or for a company that wants to provide a robotic assistant for its customers , CITST will customize the actions of the robot according to the task or tasks desired to be realized and rent the customized robot to the company. It is assumed that such a presence in a shopping center, exhibition or trade fair exhibition will be a strong element of attraction.
